A Year To Explore

I am delighted to be adding a few final notes to the year 2017. Already?! When I look up again, well, it will be 2018 and I have to be down with that, right? We all have to be okay with the wrap-up of this year. Ahhh. While I keep meticulous records of my business side, I never want to forget to make sure to say special words to all the bold, alert, spirited, devoted, lively, playful, outgoing, good-natured, curious, sensitive, and entertaining dogs, cats, horses, cavies, and - oh yes!!! And the people that love them! All who have crossed more than my camera's eye throughout the year. My camera is but an extension of me. So, Thank You! Each moment, thank you, for trusting me to be a part of your life with a few laughs. It has been a joy and so rewarding to spend time with you and your family.

JRaymond_ Large_Wallpaper_Balloons18.jpg Next year, sweet new year, I am taking on new challenges. I am going to be doing personal projects and other commitments.

Due to my projects, I will be booking a limited number of pet photo sessions.

All sessions will require a deposit and pre-session consultation about location, lighting and other details, so we can keep your pet happy, make some magic, and keep it simple. Sessions will be available in Spring and Fall.

I am excited to be expanding my photography to do more than in the past. I believe in using it as a tool to make the world a more equitable, interdependent, open-minded, warm & loving place. In the words of Elle Luna, who wrote one of my favorite books The Crossroads of Should and Must - the author asks: Why Am I Here?  And in the next morning she answers: "I began the hardest journey of my life - painting my dream."

That dream, for me, is and always has been to combine my job, career, and calling. I will begin A Year To Explore and maybe, a few tidbits will show up here in this blog. I can see how being on the verge of entering my seventh decade, it is a already a calling to be an entrepreneur-baby-boomer-seeker-of-truth-type, but there's more. With beginnings there are always endings. Perhaps Elle's words are a good place to end, so to begin: "We each have unique potential that was given to us at birth, but whether or not we cultivate it is entirely up to us." In its purest sense, MUST is why we are here to begin with, and choosing it is the journey of our lives. These words, do they apply in a universal way to us all? I intend to be curious & find out.

 . . . with big love, Julia
