About The Photographer
Love Life's Curves
I consider myself a Curvologist - a student of curves of every kind. I believe curves in life and nature and especially in the wet nose kisses of our animal friends can make us breathe a little deeper. Curves are that compelling feeling expressed in a photograph that captures distinctly what you love.
Life Threw Me a Curve, and Here I Am
I founded my business long after taking a weekend beginner photography course. But the real push came when I lost several family members and a friend in a short span of time. The curve most heart-breaking was the loss of my husband. Our daughter and son were teens at the time. A friend and photographer lovingly urged us to make a family portrait. It was so powerful for each of us in our own way. To reclaim what the word Family meant in our lives was a gift. The photographer helped to portray what a hundred words couldn’t say. When we adopted Sadie, our husky-mix, our lives were forever changed in a most magic sort of way. She healed our body, mind and soul. Her twirly-girly energy melted our hearts like soft serve butter. Sadie has inspired me to lend my lens to take images of dogs and other animal family members as a pet photographer.
My Experience as a Curvologist
I am located in Meridian, Idaho. I graduated from the Rocky Mountain School of Photography (RMSP) and have studied photography at the Art Institute of Colorado. I am also an active member of Professional Photographers of America (PPA). I have loved photography since childhood - I carried my Nikon FM everywhere: to the summit of the South Teton and throughout the Rocky Mountain region, Mexico and Canada. When I am not in the studio or on location, you will find me hanging out with my husky-mix, Sadie, who rescued my family; and Great-Pyrenees mix, Tucker who rescued me. I am always catching up with my kids who are busy adulting on their own now. I am a natural optimist, a risk-taker who has jumped out of a perfectly good airplane trusting only to a canopy of silk. I get excited about new things easily and I choose to (mostly) face my fears and (mostly) live in the present time zone (the same one we all share). To learn more about me and where I love to bring my camera, visit my blog. I am also incredibly honored to be a part of a non-profit organization that finds homes for adoptable dogs & helps foster these wonderful dogs. To find each one their best forever home is our mission. To learn more, please check out www.takemehomedogrescue.org. Please contact us if you are interested in donating to our cause or in becoming a foster family. There is always an urgent need, so support us in small ways if you can!
Is There a Curve You Want to Capture?
Does your dog do fab tricks? Does she vibe with non-stop chaos over a ball, or is chilling & relaxing in a special place more like it? We'll go on-location in your home, or we can create a clean, classic, detailed image in a session that takes place in our studio. We also scout out locations that will suit your dog's personality & comfort level for a good balance of close-up, candid & posed shots.
I know it’s the way a photo makes me feel that holds a special place in my heart. WE ARE LOCATED IN MERIDIAN, IDAHO AND SERVE THE TREASURE VALLEY
